2012 Des Moines Downtown Farmers Market – Photo Essay

The 2012 Des Moines Farmers Market is well underway and the weather has been much different than last year with almost nothing but clear skies. A trip down the aisles showed that there are a few different vendors this year. Also, it was possible to get a real Breakfast Thing with all of the right ingredients from Tacoapocolypse. Production seems to have ramped up this year. The farmers market continues to be almost as much of a weekly summer festival, complete with soaps, jewelry, art, music, and a Paris Hilton wannabees dragging tiny dogs no bigger than guinea pigs behind them (I’m surprised that she didn’t get a beat-down from a dog lover). The size and capabilities of the other dogs on display makes me wonder how long it will be before a market-goer is added to the menu. Here are some pics:
