Des Moines has started its ninth annual Oktoberfest and there is one more evening left, Saturday, the 29th in the Court Avenue district. Tickets are $7 in advance or $10 at the door. Visit www.oktoberfestdsm.com for a schedule of events, updates and other details.
Beers include Hofbrau Oktoberfest and Lager, Leinenkuegel Oktoberfest (my favorite), New Belgium Red Hoptober (for the hops fans), Shiner Oktoberfest, Boulevard Bob 47 Seasonal, Blue Moon Pumpkin and some other drinks.
Here is some video from last night’s Bier Maiden contest. The contest got ugly!
This site is administered by a central Iowa blogger. I've been blogging for about thirteen years. This is my newest blog and is intended to focus on anything distilled, fermented, roasted and grilled, whether it is a liquid to be imbibed, food to be eaten, or opinions to be offered . I've invited Ourmaninomaha to add some contributions from out west.
If we get swag for a review then we mention it. We are not affiliated with any organizations that are reviewed.
